Visit to Volkswagen Plant and August Horch Museum Zwickau

The Volkswagen plant in Zwickau is one of the most modern and productive automobile factories for electric vehicles. As the world’s first volume manufacturer, VW converted the entire Zwickau plant from internal combustion engines to electromobility within only 26 months starting from 2018. Since early 2022, six fully electric models have been rolling off the assembly lines – the VW ID.3, ID.4, and ID.5, the Audi Q4 e-tron, the Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron, and the Cupra Born.

During the tour, you will gain insights into selected areas, including the body shop and the assembly halls, and will learn more about the logistic processes in a sophisticated electric car production.

The August Horch Museum is located on the very ground of the first Audi factory, at the origin of great automotive history. Later on, DKW and Trabant vehicles were produced in these halls.

Explore 120 years of Zwickau’s automotive history across 6,500 m² of exhibition space, where your tour guide will lead you from its inception to the present day. Immersive scenes and settings combined with historical and technical information will relocate you into the respective time periods.
